Sonic Parade

This year's parade theme is "Celebrating Heroes," and you can help celebrate them by attending Sonic's annual parade. This parade through Lubbock is a fun way to get the entire community involved and excited for our National Holiday. You can cheer on the sidelines and collect candy or you can get involved in the parade by applying at the link below! Festivities start at 9 AM, but you'll want to leave your apartment under $1,000/month early to get the perfect spot.

Start your holiday morning with some tunes! Two major outdoor stages will feature the best of West Texas music from 10:30 AM – 5 PM. Stop by anytime!

Sunbelt Rentals Cool Zone

Worried about the mid-summer Texas heat? That won't be a problem! This year's first ever Sunbelt Rentals Cool Zone is the perfect spot to cool down and relax at the festival. Several large evaporative coolers will be placed throughout the park keeping you cool all day. These powerful misters can cool a 3,000 sq ft area up to 30 degrees!

Lubbock National Bank Ferris Wheel

This year, Lubbock National Bank is adding an exciting new element to the festival, a gigantic ferris wheel! The ferris wheel will be giving free rides all day. Sit back and relax while you get the perfect view of the entire festival!

Bolton Oil Change Youth Fishing Tournament, Hosted by Cabela's

Bring your family to the second annual Bolton Oil Change Youth Fishing Tournament, hosted by Cabela's! The McKenzie Park lake will be stocked with 850 pounds of catfish, so don't be shy there's plenty of fish in the sea (or in this case, pond)! No permit needed for minors to fish and participants are encouraged to bring their own gear. However, Cabela's will be there supplying tackle, bobbers, and fishing poles while supplies last. You can even win prizes! Prizes will be awarded to the winner of the following categories; 7 & Under, 8-12 and 13-18. The tournament starts at 11 AM, weigh in is at 4 PM, and winners will be announced on stage at 4:45 PM!

Riversmith's Catfish & Cobbler Eating Contest

Riversmith's catfish & cobbler eating contest is the perfect opportunity for more prizes and fun! This free entry event starts at 5 PM and offers prizes in the following categories: Adult Catfish, Adult Cobbler, 6 & Under Catfish, 7-12 Catfish, 13-17 Catfish, 6 & Under Cobbler, 7-12 Cobbler, and 13-17 Cobbler.

Covenant Children's Hospital Kids Area

Bring your kids' to a day full of free fun at the kid's area! From 10:30 AM – 6 PM, activities such as yoga, inflatables, water slides, face painting, obstacle courses, a mechanical bull, a rock wall, arts & crafts and much more will be happening! Don't miss out!

Glasheen, Valles & Inderman Fireworks Extravaganza

End your holiday with a bang! After the concert head over to everyone's favorite part of 4th of July, fireworks! A major firework celebration will be held at 10 pm/dusk choreographed live to the music of the Youth Orchestras of Lubbock.
