A gated apartment in Lubbock is a great amenity to consider if you are hoping to settle in a quieter and more peaceful apartment. In general, gated apartments can put off unwelcome guests, deter crime, and keep traffic to a minimum. Because gated Lubbock communities are more private, they can give residents more of a neighborhood feel they want. Being enclosed in a space can encourage people to get to know their neighbors better and can create lifelong friendships. Gated apartment communities in Lubbock also make people feel safe walking around alone or at night. It also gives people the peace of mind knowing that their packages will be stored safely and be protected.

Types of Gated Apartments in Lubbock

Safety is of upmost importance when choosing an apartment to live in. Having the peace of mind that you are safe is always a priority for the place you want to call home, especially if you are living alone in a studio apartment. To feel safe, many people choose to live in an apartment community with a gate. A gate provides more control on patrolling who comes in and out of the community. However, there are different kinds of gates that appeal to certain type of people more than others. Before choosing your gated Lubbock apartment, determine what type of gate best suits your lifestyle. Below are the two most common types of gates found in gated communities:

    Gate Box
The first type of gate is the gate box. The gate box has an updated list of current residents in the community. When a guest comes to this box, they are prompted to look up the name of the person they are visiting. Once they select a name, the visitor then presses a button that automatically dials that person's phone number. In order for the gate to open, the person they hope to visit must answer the call and select a key that signifies that they are granting the visitor access to enter the community. Because the gate box calls your phone number, you are given total control of who is allowed to visit you and you can grant them access to the complex wherever you are.

    Gate Keypad
If you know that you like to have many guests over, answering your phone every time someone comes over can seem a bit overwhelming. If that is the case, you may prefer a gate that has a keypad that controls the gate instead. Each resident is given a password to give to guests who want to visit them. All you have to do is tell your family and friends this code and they are given access to the apartment community.

Living in a Gated Apartment in Lubbock

Living in a gated apartment isn't for everyone! Before living in an apartment community that is gated, make sure to evaluate your priorities. If you do not want to pay extra money to live in an area that is gated, there are plenty of other security features you can utilize to feel safe. For example, you can install a security camera to deter unwanted visitors, add extra locks to your door, or live in a community that has a security guard instead. It is all about preferences and priorities!
