Madison Suter is a second-year Marketing student at the University of Florida, minoring in Mass Communications and Reals Estate. This combination is reflective of her desire to bring together her analytical business mind with her creative side. Madison has future goals of working in the digital marketing and social media fields, so she is very excited to get real-world experience being on the iLS Network team as a digital content specialist.
Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Madison always knew she wanted to attend college out of state. She is definitely the expert on relocating to a brand new place for college. Being an out-of-state student, Madison joined the sorority Kappa Kappa Gamma to quickly connect with others and find her place at college. She now serves as the Academic Excellence Director, helps with recruitment, participates in philanthropy, and even lives with three of her sorority sisters.
According to Madison, some of the most important features to look for during your apartment search are location, amenities, and great management. She decided to live in her current apartment because of the close location to her sorority house and campus. She takes advantage of the apartment community's many amenities by having a pool day, working out at the gym, or getting some schoolwork done in one of the study rooms. Finally, it's very important to her to look for an apartment community with friendly and helpful management to help simplify the entire process. Her favorite part about her current apartment is all of the fun community events because they are a great way to meet new people. Madison also enjoys decorating her room, especially with some cute, low-maintenance fake plants. Since all of her roommates are from different states, the girls each have a poster of where they are from in the living room, so they all feel a little more at home.
Madison is involved in several organizations on campus including the Heavener Leadership Challenge (HLC) where she works with her peers to strengthen the five practices of exemplary leadership and prove that leadership is a learnable skill. She is also the Social Director of the American Marketing Association (AMA) and participated in the Business Undergraduate Mentorship Program (BUMP), both of which help students to network and connect with those in their career field. She hopes that her involvement will develop her as a young leader in her profession and further her educational experience.
When Madison isn't doing schoolwork or sorority activities, she likes to stay active and experiment with trying new local restaurants. She was a dedicated swimmer in high school and now coaches for a youth swim league and lifeguards every summer. She likes to make working out fun and prefers not to do it alone, so she loves taking spin classes while back and has also frequented hip-hop fitness and yoga classes. On the weekends, you can catch Madison taking road trips to the beach or having dinner at her favorite local sushi restaurant.
